Our Mission: A Better Future for Romania’s Dogs and Cats
At SOS ARMS, our mission is to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Romania, creating a compassionate society where no animal suffers from homelessness, neglect, or cruelty. We strive to build a world where animals and humans coexist harmoniously, ensuring every pet has the chance to experience love, care, and dignity.
We firmly believe that no animal should die unwanted, whether in overcrowded shelters, on the streets, or in pain. Every life matters, and it is our duty to provide them with the safety, medical care, and affection they deserve.
Our Core Goals
✔ Rescue, Rehabilitate & Rehome – We provide a lifeline to abandoned, injured, and neglected animals, offering them a second chance through responsible adoption. In addition to caring for our own rescues, we collaborate with local rescuers who turn to us for help.
✔ Combat Overpopulation & Reduce Euthanasia – Through spay/neuter programs, we work to prevent unwanted litters, significantly reducing stray populations and the need for euthanasia. By educating communities on the benefits of sterilization, we advocate for a long-term solution to this crisis.
✔ Educate & Inspire the Next Generation – We believe in the power of education. By implementing animal welfare programs in schools, we aim to cultivate a culture of respect and responsibility toward all living beings, ensuring that future generations grow up valuing and protecting animals.
✔ Provide the Best Possible Care – Every animal in our sanctuary deserves proper food, medical treatment, and a comfortable environment. We rely on donations and sponsorships to sustain our mission and offer the highest level of care to our residents.
At SOS ARMS, our commitment is unwavering. With the help of our supporters, we continue to fight for a future free from suffering, where every dog and cat finds love, safety, and a place to call home.

Building a Sanctuary of Hope and Compassion
With the support of our incredible community, we are working tirelessly to establish a sanctuary for over 350 rescued dogs—a place where they can live safely, free from suffering, and surrounded by love. These are the souls we have already saved, and we continue to fight for those who still need us.
So far, we have successfully relocated 100 dogs, but many remain in temporary, rented spaces where conditions—especially during winter—are incredibly difficult. Our sanctuary will not only provide a safe haven for them but also serve as a permanent home for our trauma survivors, elderly dogs, and those with disabilities who may never find traditional homes. These dogs deserve to live out their days in comfort, receiving the best possible care, attention, and love.
Our Vision for the Sanctuary
✔ A Forever Home for Special Needs & Senior Dogs – Many of our dogs have endured unimaginable hardships. For those who are unlikely to be adopted, the sanctuary will provide them with lifelong care, dignity, and freedom.
✔ Responsible Adoptions – While some of our rescued dogs are suitable for adoption, many have been overlooked for years. We remain committed to finding responsible, loving homes for those who are ready while ensuring that those who stay with us have everything they need.
✔ Distance Adoption & Sponsorship – Each of our permanent residents will be part of a distance adoption program, allowing kind-hearted supporters to sponsor a dog, ensuring they receive proper nutrition, medical care, and a comfortable life.
✔ A Dedicated Veterinary Clinic – Our long-term goal is to establish a clinic within the sanctuary, where we can provide essential veterinary care, conduct large-scale spay/neuter campaigns, and offer medical assistance to pets whose owners cannot afford treatment.
✔ Education & Awareness – We believe that change begins with education. We hope to collaborate with schools, teaching children about kindness, responsibility, and compassion toward animals, shaping a future where neglect and abuse are no longer tolerated.
✔ Encouraging Volunteerism – We strive to promote the spirit of volunteerism, especially among young people, to inspire them to get involved in animal welfare and experience the joy of making a difference.
Why We Need Your Help
The journey to building our sanctuary is not an easy one. We face overcrowding, limited resources, and the ongoing challenge of caring for dogs who have been with us for years. Since the pandemic, adoptions have slowed dramatically, and many puppies we rescued have now grown into adults, still waiting for homes in cramped spaces.
With your support, we can create a sanctuary where these dogs finally experience the freedom, care, and love they deserve. Every donation, sponsorship, and act of kindness brings us closer to that goal.
📢 How You Can Help:
✅ Sponsor a dog from a distance to ensure they receive food and medical care.
✅ Donate to help us build the sanctuary and improve conditions for our rescues.
✅ Spread the word—raise awareness about our work and encourage others to help.
✅ Volunteer—whether in-person or remotely, your time and skills can make a difference.
