Meet Sam – A Gentle Soul in Need of Love

Sam’s story is one of survival and resilience. He was found  when was just a small puppy injured in a neighborhood where cruelty and poverty go hand in hand. No one knows exactly what happened to him, but he was suffering from a severe open fracture on his leg, enduring deep pain. After spending a long time in the clinic and undergoing surgery, he can walk, but his leg remains fragile. He requires clean conditions to prevent frequent infections where the fur no longer grows.

Beyond his leg injury, Sam may have also suffered head trauma—when touched, his eyes roll in an unusual way, as if some nerves were damaged. He also has a distinctive salivation, and sometimes, his face appears to be smiling in a way that makes him even more endearing.

Despite everything, Sam is a calm, easygoing dog. He listens well, integrates effortlessly into a pack, and gets along with all dogs. When he had to move from an apartment to a shelter, he struggled emotionally. The boy who originally found and cared for him could no longer keep him, and Sam felt the loss deeply. But since arriving at P.A.T. Paws and Tales Sanctuary, he has found a new sense of freedom. For the first time, we saw him play!
