Meet Sam – A Gentle Soul in Need of Love

Sam’s story is one of survival and resilience. He was found  when was just a small puppy injured in a neighborhood where cruelty and poverty go hand in hand. No one knows exactly what happened to him, but he was suffering from a severe open fracture on his leg, enduring deep pain. After spending a long time in the clinic and undergoing surgery, he can walk, but his leg remains fragile. He requires clean conditions to prevent frequent infections where the fur no longer grows.

Beyond his leg injury, Sam may have also suffered head trauma—when touched, his eyes roll in an unusual way, as if some nerves were damaged. He also has a distinctive salivation, and sometimes, his face appears to be smiling in a way that makes him even more endearing.

Despite everything, Sam is a calm, easygoing dog. He listens well, integrates effortlessly into a pack, and gets along with all dogs. When he had to move from an apartment to a shelter, he struggled emotionally. The boy who originally found and cared for him could no longer keep him, and Sam felt the loss deeply. But since arriving at P.A.T. Paws and Tales Sanctuary, he has found a new sense of freedom. For the first time, we saw him play!

Sam is a gentle, affectionate dog who thrives on love and human touch. He deserves a safe, caring home where he can live without pain or worry. If you can’t adopt Sam, you can still sponsor him from a distance, providing vital support for his care and medical needs.

Will you be the one to give Sam the love he has always deserved?

Meet Laika – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Loving Home

Laika is a beautiful 4-5-year-old dog with a heart full of love, waiting for a family to call her own. Her story began in hardship—abandoned while pregnant near a very poor neighborhood, she was scared and searching for food. Step by step, she learned to trust kind-hearted children and a woman who fed her. Sadly, her puppies were never found, and in that area, many vulnerable puppies face tragic fates.

For the past 2-3 years, Laika has been with us, slowly learning that the world isn’t as frightening as she once believed. Though still sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, she has blossomed into a sweet and affectionate companion. Once she trusts you, she’s a gentle, loving dog with a constantly wagging tail.

Laika struggled in a kennel environment, losing hair due to stress, but since arriving at our sanctuary, she has truly flourished. She has formed an unbreakable bond with Napoleon, an older dog she adores—she showers him with kisses and follows him everywhere, earning her the nickname “Napoleon’s wife.” She is submissive, listens well, and walks on a leash, making her a great candidate for a home with children and other dogs. Given her past experiences in an area full of stray cats, she might be fine with them too—we can test if needed.

While the dream would be to find a home where she and Napoleon can stay together, Laika is also available for adoption on her own. She is ready for a loving, patient family who will continue to show her that she is safe and cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion, Laika might just be the perfect match!

Could you be the family she’s been waiting for?

If you cannot adopt Laika you could sponsor her monthly .
